Non-domestic Generations (F1, F2, F3, F4)

Being considered by the regulations as a non-domestic animal, it is listed in the same way as the serval in appendix II of Cites and in appendix B of EC regulation n°338/97.

Breeders and holders of "non-domestic" F1 to F4 savannahs must be in possession of a certificate of capacity for non-domestic "savannah" species as well as an authorization to open an establishment.

You must inquire at the DDETSPP of your region, the regulations being in evolution

Its import or export obliges you to ask the DREAL (Regional Directorate for the Environment, Planning and Housing) in your region for a CITES permit (prior document for its legal acquisition and which will attest to its origin).
These non-domestic generations are prohibited in cat shows because they have a "non-domestic" status.

To keep such hybrids, we recommend that you provide them with a suitable, secure and pleasant place (such as an aviary type enclosure) for their conditions of detention and to be very vigilant because the savannah is a very active and runaway cat.

Domestic Generations F5, F6 and SBT

These generations are considered domestic cats because they are at least four generations away from the Serval. You can keep them like all other cats, they are allowed to participate in cat shows.
